In the ancient settlement of Kavoussi, at the location “Azoria” of the Municipality of Ierapetra, thrives an ancient olive tree that stands as a witness of the past. This ancient olive tree, with its trunk bearing the signs of centuries, is an element of the area’s rich heritage. The maximum diameter of the trunk is 4.9 meters, and the circumference is 14.20 meters. Based on the method of annual rings, it is estimated that the tree was planted between 1350 and 1100 BC.
